Helping an Older Woman in Gym Parking Lot

Today I helped a woman who looked to me for assistance when she couldn't unlock her car.

Today, I helped an older woman in the gym parking lot. She turned to me as I walked by her because I noticed her having trouble unlocking her car with her remote. She looked at me and said, "I think the battery is dead. I said, “Let me try,” and I tried it, but it didn’t seem to work.

I then said, “Why don’t you try using the key? I see a keyhole in the door handle.” She proceeded to give that a shot but was unsuccessful, so I tried, and the key did not turn. Since these things didn't easily work I said, “I don’t think this is your car.”

She said, “No, this is my car,” but upon taking a closer look, she realized and said, “Oh my God, this is not my car.”

Now, I already had a feeling that this was not her car because I often help older people navigate “older people moments,” which is why I started this business, where I help older people, but also young people, with computer-related tasks and everyday life tasks.

When I told this woman that this was not her car and she finally realized it, she was very grateful that I pointed it out right away. Although it was an understandable mistake, her gratitude is what often results when I assist older folks with everyday things. This is what I bring to the table and I hope everyone can experience someone who is on their side.
